Harvey Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie)
If you are interested in Harvey, https://www.cognitoforms.com/SRLInc1/SRLIncAdoptionApplication. This is the start of our adoption process.
Adoption fee is $250.
Harvey, has been neutered, had a well check, had a dental, heart worm tested negative, has a current rabies shot, had a distemper/parvo booster, Bordatella and H3N2/H3N8 flu Vaccination and has been de-wormed. He is microchipped and a nail trim. He also got groomed
Harvey's birthdate is: 10/24/16 His weight is: 13 pounds.
Harvey will need a patient human that does not yell. He is not aggressive to other dogs (even when it is a 5lb yorkie who is trying to eat him) He is very submissive and rolls on his back sometimes when someone new wants to pet him. He is good with cats and did not see any aggression with children.(though I do think he would be better in a home without small children) He loves to sit on laps and follows you closely( a bit of a hazard if you are not paying attention) He is not a barker unless the doorbell rings. He eats dry dog food but sometimes likes you to give him a handful off of your hand before he eats out of his bowl. He doesn't eat a lot at once, he likes to graze all day. He loves to go on walks and usually "does his business" during his walk (make sure to bring a poop bag) He does not like squirrels! He still growls if you are wanting him to do something he doesn't want to do (like get off of the couch) but if I put a leash on him, he gets right down. He uses the dog door fairly well...has had a few accidents (mostly marking new territory) and has improved daily. He will sneak out the door if you are not watching- so i have made it a habit to turn and tell him no.... stay before I open the door. When he did get out, he ran off of the porch and down the steps. I said his name sternly and he rolled over on his back and stayed there until i came to pick him up. He likes to sleep in the chair, couch and on the bed. He prefers to have a blanket so he can cover himself. All in all he is a wonderful dog and would be good company for someone needing a buddy and that likes to take walks! He will need to be trained to your environment and may have an accident until he knows your routine.
Harvey, has had his right front leg amputated. This happened before we got him.
